Awesome game! internet version worked fine for me on Firefox

love the music and SFX, I found myself sitting here playing longer than I thought I would, great job! fun and interesting

Game's really fun. I kinda wish the 20th floor was just the minimum for the player to reach to get the ending. But overall, nice game.

Here's my channel for other games I have played. https://www.youtube.com/@Levont

I'd like to try this out, but it won't load for me :( Safari 26.2

Nice game well done

Cute game! Easy to learn, fun to keep playing. I love the style of it and the artwork! Great job!

Doesnt really feel like there is any choice in blocks you get with how you basicly have to buy every block and have to buy all 3

Surprisingly gets better, although not a ton of block veriaty

yay i escaped my fate, very fun

A really fantastic spin on Tetris mixed with Castlevania elements!

I love this game, the audio work is amazing. Did you make it all yourself?

Thanks. I can't take a whole lot of credit there.

The music was some royalty free stuff I had found online (see the in game credits). For the sound effects i generated them using bfxr.

My high score without Fortune Teller cheese

The game bugs out at around 57 most of the time for me, stopping me from placing more rooms.

Love this game! Easy to learn. Got directly sucked in.

What Version of Godot were you using to make the web build working?

I'm glad you liked it! I was using an experimental branch that can be found in https://github.com/godotengine/godot/pull/106125. It's pretty hacky, and there are some things that don't work, but it can get the job done for small projects.

As I was checking it out really quickly and wasn't paying too much attention at the beginning I didn't really understand too well what I was doing. But the thing is, the looks of it and everything in it, got me hooked a bit and from then on I started to get what I am doing as well. I will definitely get back to this later, there is really something in this!

Really great game, as many said, it hooked me for a good time as well. Nice soundtrack, ideas, and game mechanics. Played for a couple of hours and enjoyed it.

Could expand it if you're interested in continuing, as once defeating the game, it unlocks a rule setting that makes it more difficult - cannot build this room/cannot build like this/every row needs to have at least one missing block. Or have an endless mode, just some ideas.

Nonetheless, great play.

i loved the game but it stopped working once i made the eye sigil on night 21.. it said i won, but it's obvious you can go further than that :/

other than that it's a really good game

This may have been a bit overkill, only stopped because the game was starting to glitch out, Fortune Teller + Statue is busted

Amazing! It hooked me for more than an hour and I didn't even notice :)

Little glitch: you can still drag rooms after the throne room has been placed and they stay there floating.

A little gameplay, a little critique ;)

Hooked! Thanks!

Really fun game, awesome mechanics. Found an infinite: Bath + Statue + Coffin

Just one small point I forgot to add to finish my little "review" from yesterday: your fun and easy-to-read concept deserves to be explored in more depth ;)

(+1)

Interesting mechanics, fun game! I wish I could use gems to customize my room pool after I've unlocked everything.

You unlock the ability to. After you make the eye sigil.

Great game. Amazing mashup of several familiar concepts. Well done!

I really loved your game! Especially the way you used the “narrative” blocks to include lore and pace progress. I made a short podcast episode about your game on substack

(+2)

Wow, this was great! No notes really.

It would be nice to have a little more sugar in the post-game (a few more new tiles, some new text when the lore piece whose name I forget is made via alchemy), but that's asking a lot for a free game-jam game.

this fucking rocks

Game won't start after downloading Windows version, don't know why still very good game I will just play web ver for now

(+2)

very cool game, and very cool mech!

I'm afraid this is the dopest thing I have ever seen.

some feedback
1. I was confused in the gem shop the first time because nothing was highlightable and the gem cost on the left was faded out. I think make the things you can buy still highlight but just a failure sound and shake when you cant afford it.

2. The reroll button is like greyed out when I click on it it does spend my dollar then goes back to its normal colour then I click again and it goes back to weird purply greyed out color its like its stuck visually. but not sure why its like greyed out like I cant afford it when I do have more money than the reroll cost.

Also I just don't like the purply greyed out button visuals it makes it too hard to see agains the background.

This is fun!

addicting and really nice sound

Nice game. Just one suggestion: the hero coming each day should be armed whith a whip, not a sword!

The game kind of breaks at height 58 or so

(+2)

Oh this is neat! Something like a vertical-stack version of Castles of Mad King Ludwig, but maybe slightly less complex.

Over level 40, you can't see up and u need to remember all the placement to follow. Besides that i'm pretty sure with one fortune teller and bath you can loop nonstop

yeah, i reached over 100 floors with the bath-fortune teller-statue infloop (i also added some medusas in order to make some gems… but i am sure there are better gem making rooms in there)

Some issues with the text here... ^^;

very cool loved it

Bottomless Pit doesn’t seem to fill a row for the purposes of Bath: I finished the bottom row by placing Bottomless Pit, and the Bath in the bottom row didn’t activate.

So, this was fun and addictive, to a point, but it seems to me to have a crucial issue (at least for me) which is that there is no actual threat, except wasting one's time.

Perhaps that is "by design", as the intro does mention the goal is to escape "the loop
of rebirth and defeat", but to me, that corresponds to what feels like a loop of gameplay with no real stakes.

That is, it seems like one could not even try to do anything in particular, and there would be no defeat, just wasted time.

And so if one does try to progress, one generally can, and resources will accumulate, and eventually, the player will get everything, and eventually be declared winner, even if they barely try.

SO the only thing REALLY at stake, is how much time the player has to play to win . . .

Which, to me, adds up to realizing the game amounts to an inevitably successful chore. OR, I can win even more, by stopping playing.

this absolutely fantastic, I love the Castlevania twist and I found it super addictive! there was a bit of a balance issue in my opinion as a sort of 'deck builder' most of the upgrades I could buy made the gameplay harder in some ways, but overall this is a sick concept that is super well executed!! you should be really proud!

Loved it! I hope you can expand it. Some suggestions:

- add a reset button

- the meaning of "adjacent" may not be clear for everyone, I wasn't sure until I saw the pieces in action, some graphical hint would be nice

- save game option (I used the web version, not sure if it's more limited)

- more ways to overcome the row/column restrictions

- when we add more epitaphs, I was expecting that every time I used one, I would get a new secret. Apparently there are only a few and each makes a message appear only once, they all look the same so a random one would show a new secret, the others do nothing after the first use. Find a way to make this clearer in the game

This can be a very addictive game with more balanced mechanics. I'd love to see a plot or more story elements in it. I'll be following it :)
